Terms of Service

Effective April 21, 2026 · Last updated April 21, 2026

Draft — review with counsel before launch.

This is a starter policy written for the product as shipped today. Substitute your legal entity name, jurisdiction, and any required consumer-protection language before going live.

1. What Hey Caller! is

Hey Caller! (“we”, “us”) is a service that gives podcasters a unique URL where listeners can leave voice messages, which we store, transcribe using AI, and surface in a web-based inbox with email notifications. You (“you”, the “Podcaster”) operate a podcast and use our service to collect listener voice messages.

2. Your account and your show

You must sign in with a valid email address. You choose a URL slug (heycaller.co/yourname) that is unique to your account. You may not impersonate another person or organization. We may reclaim slugs that clearly violate this.

You are responsible for the content of messages your listeners leave, in the sense that you control whether to play, share, archive, or delete them. Do not use our service to collect messages from people who have not clearly consented to leave one.

3. Billing

The service costs $60 USD per year, billed annually in advance via Stripe. No free trial. Your subscription renews automatically on the anniversary of your first successful payment unless you cancel beforehand.

You can cancel at any time via the Customer Portal link in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period; we do not prorate refunds for unused time.

If your payment fails, we’ll try again a few times over two weeks. If still unsuccessful, your show stops accepting new messages and we move your data into the 30-day post-cancellation grace state described below.

4. Data retention and cancellation

While your subscription is active, we retain your audio, transcripts, and AI-generated titles and summaries indefinitely. You can download any message as an audio file at any time.

After cancellation or failed renewal, we keep your data for 30 days (the “grace window”) so you can resume the subscription or export anything you need. After 30 days, audio files, transcripts, and AI-generated content are permanently deleted. Account records and billing history are retained to meet our legal obligations.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to solicit, store, or distribute content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit involving minors, or designed to harm others. If we see it, we remove it; if you do it, we terminate your account.

You agree not to abuse the service’s technical infrastructure: no automated mass-submission, no attempts to circumvent rate limits, no reverse engineering of our systems.

6. AI-generated content

Transcripts, titles, and summaries for each voice message are produced by third-party AI models and may contain errors, misattributions, or omissions. They are not a substitute for listening to the original audio. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on or publish.

7. Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep it running and keep your data safe, but we make no warranty of uninterrupted service, error-free transcription, or permanent data retention beyond what’s described above. Use of the service is at your own risk.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we’ll email you and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after the change means you accept it.

10. Contact

Questions or complaints can be sent via the contact form on our site.
